DrNuc is the Nuclear Petrophysical Calculator. This app calculates nuclear petrophysical properties used in the oil industry. DrNuc is designed to provide an accurate "first look" at nuclear logs in reservoir formations. This app is an important tool for understanding nuclear logs, for predicting the response of nuclear logging tools, and for planning nuclear logging programs. DrNuc has applications in oil exploration and production. DrNuc is designed for running on iPhones and can be used at well sites. It is stand-alone and does not require any connectivity.
DrNuc calculates 6 petrophysical parameters used in the oil industry:
- rhoB : formation bulk density
- rhoe : electron density
- PEF : the photo-electric factor
- DPHI : the density porosity
- HI : the hydrogen index
- Sigma : the formation capture cross section
There are 6 calculators in the app customized for different applications:
(1) clean sandstone, limestone or dolomite formation with water, oil, gas and/or CO2 in the pore volume;
(2) sandstone formations with the clays illite, kaolinite and smectite;
(3) petrophysical properties for complex lithologies and hydrocarbons;
(4) petrophysical parameters for a library of 100 minerals;
(5) properties of saline water at high pressure and temperature;
(6) petrophysical properties for rock assays or elemental analyses.
